Funeral General
Amend Sections 1209, 1214, 1216, 1221, 1255, 1258, 1258.1, 1258.2, and 1258.4 of Division 12, of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations. Repeal Sections 1258.3 of Division 12, of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations.

This regulatory action becomes effective January 1, 2016.

Funeral Enforcement
Amend Sections 1240(a), 1241, 1242, and 1246 of Article 5.5, Division 12, of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations. Repeal Sections 1280, 1281, 1282, 1283, 1284, 1285, 1286, 1287, 1288, 1289, 1290, and 1291 of Article 9, Division 12, of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations.

This regulatory action becomes effective on October 1, 2014.

Cemetery Maintenance Standards

Adopt Section 2333 of Article 3, Division 23, of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations.

How to Participate

The Cemetery and Funeral Bureau holds public Advisory Committee meetings during which proposed regulations are usually included as an agenda item. Advisory Committee meetings are held in Sacramento at the Department of Consumer Affairs building at 1625 North Market Blvd (room location varies and will be indicated on the agenda). Meeting date(s), time(s), and agenda(s) are posted on the Bureau’s Web site a minimum of 10 days prior to the meeting.

Any person interested may present comments orally or in writing relevant to regulatory actions proposed at a Regulatory Hearing. Written comments, including those sent by mail, facsimile, or e-mail to the address listed in each Notice under Contact Person must be received no later than the date and time stated in the Notice, or must be received by the Cemetery and Funeral Bureau at the Regulatory Hearing. If submitted at a Regulatory Hearing, it is requested, although not required, that 5 copies be made available to Bureau staff. If you submit a comment, you have the right to request a copy of the Final Statement of Reasons (which will also be posted on the Bureau’s Web site). Hearing date, time, and location are announced within the Notice of Proposed Regulatory Action.
