AB 795 IRWIN (CHAPTER 309, STATUTES OF 2019)*

This bill enacts various measures, including setting appropriate limits on trustee compensation, to help ensure the long-term solvency of cemetery endowment care trust funds. It has a delayed implementation date of January 1, 2021.

SB 606 GLAZER (CHAPTER 375, STATUTES OF 2019)

This bill extends the Cemetery and Funeral Bureau’s (CFB) duties and powers from January 1, 2020 to January 1, 2024, deletes “from time to time” from the authorization for the CFB to examine license issuance requirements for embalmers in other states, and deletes obsolete language regarding the time period for retaking the embalmer’s exam.
